Economic Feasibility of Thermal Energy Storage-Integrated Concentrating Solar Power Plants

Concentrating solar power (CSP) is a high-potential renewable energy source that can leverage various thermal applications. CSP plant development has therefore become global trend. However, the designing of for given resource condition and financial situation still work in progress. This study aims to develop mathematical model analyze levelized cost electricity (LCOE) Thermal Energy Storage (TES)-integrated plants such circumstances. The developed presents an LCOE variation 18 different configurations with TES incorporated Rankine, Brayton, combined generation cycles, under regular materials nano-enhanced materials. then recommends most economical arrangement. Within scope this study, it was found best configuration tower phase change as latent heat storage medium runs on cycle. returns 7.63 ct/kWh 22.70% efficiency. favorable option 50 MW cycle medium, which 7.72 22.14%
